Step 2: Manage at least 5 customer stores

To be considered for Shopify Experts, you currently need at least 5 . Must manage Shopify stores in Shopify Partners. This means that you have brought in the customers yourself, completed the development process, and passed ownership onto the customer.

Note: Non-development workers must also join the Partner Program and manage at least 5 stores. This doesn't mean that you have to develop those stores, but you must have access to these stores for contractual purposes. For example, you may have 5 clients for whom you provide writing or photography services.

Of course, it all starts with connecting the client stores. The goal is to move customers from the Managed category to the Managed category for growth, as the Shopify Experts idea requires an active, managed store.

To add a new client to your list, click on the Add Shop button.

Here, you can choose from

  • Shopify Store Building: This is for building a Shopify store or app from scratch. You can then transfer ownership to a customer.

  • Managed Store: This allows you to store an existing one. Provides access to Shopify stores, especially when selling non-development services, such as writing, photography, or website management

Shopify Partners

Make sure you do what you intend to do with the development store, such as creating a new store for a client, testing an app, or just playing.

As an alternative, if you sell non-development services such as writing or photography, you can request administrative permission for certain aspects of an existing site.

Once you've created a store, or granted permission to an existing site, it appears in your list of managed sites with a link to log into the backend and transfer ownership.

And in order to be considered for the Shopify Experts Marketplace, you have to do this 5 times!

Step 3: You must have a portfolio of previous work

The RSI Shopify Experts Marketplace gives you a page to list your experience, portfolio items, rates, and location. However, if you have not yet been accepted into the specialist market, you do not have access to a page like this. Therefore, we recommend creating your own website (in places like WordPress, Wix, or Weebly) to showcase your portfolio.

This way, you are able to present that experience to Shopify, giving yourself a stronger chance of acceptance.

Include a gallery of past projects, contact details, and details of what went into the projects.

Apollo Multimedia is a Shopify specialist, but he already had a website portfolio before joining the marketplace.

Step 4: Please observe Shopify Experts Marketplace

Shopify states that reputable Shopify Partners often receive invitations to join the Shopify Experts marketplace. Therefore, Shopify already monitors its community and reaches out to people who can improve its collection of experts.

But instead of waiting for an email from Shopify, workers and contractors can contact Shopify and request a listing on the Shopify Experts Marketplace.

The only way to go about it is by sending a message to the Shopify Partners team support.

So, click on Support > Contact Support Support

Choose to chat, email or phone online to explain why your freelance or agency business is eligible to be listed on the Marketplace. Includes format to back up your requests like website portfolio, years of experience, track record, and communication timeline.
